View all the most intriguing parts of Europe’s oldest living city
On your walking tour of Plovdiv you will visit the Old Town of the city, which dates from 19th century as well as the outside of the Ethnographic Museum – reputed to be the most beautiful house in Plovdiv.
You’ll see the Balabanov house and the main sites of Ancient Philippopolis, the Roman-style amphitheatre and the ancient stadium, which is both the largest and best-preserved in all of the Balkans. The Roman sections of the tour also features the Roman forum.
Other outstanding sites of note will include the Church of the Holy Mother of God, Plovdiv, the St. Constantin and Elena church, the Djumaya Mosque and square, Glavnata – the main pedestrian street – and the “Trap” Neighbourhood (Kapana). You’ll finish at Nebet tepe, a hill which gives you a full view of the entire city.
